About

My name is Porsha Deun. I am the owner and designer of Deon and Dion, an accessory fashion house specializing in hair accessories, men's handkerchiefs, and corsages. I have every intention of expanding this line to include women's formal wear and men's neckties over the next few years.

I first realized that I had a knack for making hair accessories when making a veil for my friend's wedding. There was no way I was going to let her pay $80 for 1.5 yards of fine tulle and with ribbon trim. I made the veil and added some gems to the veil. It was gorgeous. That is when Deon and Dion (as it is now) was born, but I didn't realize it yet.

When telling a friend about my jewelry making (short lived), he suggested that I open a shop on Etsy. I had never heard of it before. So I checked it out, was excited, made an account, started making up some stuff, and then opened my account.

Like most handmade shops, it had a slow start and is still a little slow, but progress is being made. In two years, I have increased the amount of items available from less than 20 to almost 300! I ended 2012 with just a handful of sales and now, two years later, have over 80 sales and am looking for my 100th sale this year.

This blog is about the never ending adventures of being an Etsy seller and entrepreneur trying to break into the fashion business, and trying to get my products on the shelves of retailers.

You may contact me via email at deonanddion@gmail.com. Don't forget to check out my shop!!!!
